Dr. Jackie F. Steele was pleased to speak with Ross Rowbury on April 6th, 2023 for a Fireside Chat featured as part of the Sustainability Roundtable Series. Leveraging her 30 years as an internationally engaged political scientist, Dr. Steele spoke about her view of the delicate balance needed between liberal democracy and stakeholder capitalism in order to build a vibrant competition of ideas and respectful inclusion of all the diversity of lived realities. Only this kind of intentional investment in robust democratic governance can help us remove blindspots across our (inequitable) system of socio-economic cooperation, and help us rebuild rules of togetherness that are designed to be equitable, sustainable, and ensure a fair market economy solving the thorniest issues of our times.
